Mineral Resources Minister Susan Shabangu and the leadership of South Africa’s mining industry will on Wednesday, 30 June 2010, launch the mining industry strategy for sustainable growth and meaningful transformation.
Following the mining summit held in the Drakensberg on 30 and 31 March 2010, government, business and labour set a 30 June deadline for the finalisation of the strategy and we are pleased to advise that the deadline has indeed been met. All stakeholders have been working diligently to ensure that the strategy is completed on time. The leaders of government, business and labour will be signing a declaration as a sign of their support for the strategy. The formalities will be followed by a press conference.
