Labour to hold public hearings on Labour Law amendments

The Department of Labour’s nation wide public engagements on the Labour Law amendments will head to Bloemfontein, Free State on Monday, 24 January, next week.

This follows the approval of the recently published Amendment Bills for the Labour Relations Act (LRA), the Employment Equity Act (EEA), the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) as well as the new Employment Services Bill announced by the Labour Minister, Mildred Oliphant last month.

The aim of the consultations is to table the new amendments for discussion and allow members of the public to comment. These bills were published on Friday, 17 December 2010 with the closing date for public comments set for 17 February 2011.
