Ke Nako Africa is to be officially launched as part of the International Football Village

South Africa's Minister of Sport and Recreation, Reverend Makhenkesi Stofile, together with the Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Dr Augusto Tomáz Salomão, the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr Wilfried Lemke, the European Union Ambassador to South Africa, Mr Lodewijk Briet, the German Ambassador to South Africa, Mr Dieter Haller, and Councillor Ntombi Mekgwe, Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni, will officially launch the ‘Ke Nako Africa’ initiative on 10 June 2010, in Johannesburg.

Ke Nako Africa is an initiative of the Department of Sport and Recreation in partnership with SADC, the Artists Trust of Southern Africa (ARTSA), the German Development Cooperation, the Youth Development through Football programme and Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WASH) United, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) campaign on water, sanitation and hygiene.

During the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Ke Nako Africa will present African and international actors from politics, sport, business, and culture with an exciting exhibition and an ambitious programme, including panel discussions, cultural events, and youth activities.

The launch of Ke Nako Africa will be held as follows:
