Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster honoured for good service

The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Cassel Mathale will honour members of the provincial Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster during the award giving ceremony designed to appreciate the good service rendered to the province during the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The award ceremony will take place as follows:

The Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster include, among others, the following departments: Safety, Security and Liaison, South African Police Services, National Intelligence, South African Defence Force, Health and Social Development, Correctional Services, Local Government and Housing, as well as Roads and Transport.

"We express our sincere appreciation for the work done by these institutions and individuals who participated in the successful hosting of the World Cup tournament. You all did a wonderful job of ensuring safety and security in our province, and for that, we sincerely thank you," says Premier Mathale.

"We are further delighted by the fact that the period of the tournament went incident-free. Our law enforcement agencies ensured security of both people and property in designated areas such as hotels accommodating FIFA delegations, fan walk, public viewing sites, park and ride, ports of entry and all the main roads leading into and out of the province. Therefore, we treasure the great legacy of hosting a successful world soccer spectacle," he adds.
