His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of South Africa, Dr. Hisham Alalawi, shall visit the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature today, 25 September from 10h30 - 13h00. The Ambassador has been in South Africa since April 2011 and will meet the Speaker of the Legislature, Honourable Fikile Xasa to discuss:
- Investment opportunities between the two countries
- Infrastructure projects and opportunities for South African companies to help re-build Iraq.
- The re-building of hospitals and health system. (The Ambassador has extensive medical background)
- Lessons learnt in terms of new democracies and empowering previously disadvantaged groups.
