Invitation to participate in the 4th Investment and Trade Initiative (ITI) to Zimbabwe

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) invites you to apply to participate in the 4th Investment and Trade Initiative (ITI) to Harare and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe from 15 to 19 October 2012. The objective of this ITI is to increase trade and investment between South Africa and Zimbabwe.

It is an ideal platform for South African companies who would like to export value added products and services and for companies who are looking for investment opportunities in Zimbabwe.

The target sectors for this ITI include:

  • Agriculture and Agro-processing
  • Built environment professionals (consulting engineers, civil engineering contractors, quantity surveying and architects)
  • Infrastructure (rail and telecoms)
  • Energy
  • Mining and Capital Equipment
  • Electro technical (electronics, electrical engineers, ICT).

Companies will be screened and selected in line with EMIA guidelines and market requirements, which are explained in the EMIA guidelines document. For the approved companies, the dti will provide:

  • a subsistence allowance of R2 000 per day
  • an economy class return airfare to a maximum of R13 000
  • freight forwarding of samples.

Companies that are not eligible for EMIA funding are welcome to participate in the ITI at their own expense. Companies applying for EMIA funding for this ITI need to complete and submit the EMIA application form as well as a one page profile to:
