Ms Dipuo Peters, Minister of Energy, will today Thursday, September 3 address a joint media conference with her Angolan counterpart, Minister Lopez, at the Westin Grand Hotel, in Cape Town at 18h30.
Minister Lopez's visit to our country is a direct consequence of the recent state visit by our President to Angola. The two Ministers will sign an implementation plan between the two countries covering projects which include inter alia; the Westcor Project involving the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Angola, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa; the role that Angola will play as a source of hydroelectric power for the region; projects in terms of which South Africa would participate in funding the electricity distribution project at Huambo; as well as possible collaboration through the Independent Power Producers.
