The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) hereby invites all interested parties to a media briefing on the authority’s approach to the development of regulations under Section 67(4) of the ECA, those are: defining markets, evaluating effectiveness of competition, declaring identified licensees to have significant market power and the imposition, if necessary, of pro-competitive terms and conditions.
This approach, outlined in the form of a guideline, is a precursor to the authority releasing any regulations that may impose pro-competitive terms and conditions.
The media briefing shall be held as follows:
