You are invited to a national briefing session and signing of the MoU with farming communities in preparation of the 2011 Municipal Elections as part of the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s (IEC) engagement with key stakeholders and interest groups.
The objectives of the briefing/signing are to:
- raise awareness of the 2011 Municipal Elections within farming communities.
- engage meaningfully with farming communities as key stakeholders in
- ensuring that the delivery of the 2011 Municipal Elections is free, fair and credible.
- inform voters, particularly within the farming communities, on electoral
- processes to ensure maximum voter participation in the 2011 Municipal Elections.
- strengthen working relations with farming communities by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with farm owners’ and farm workers’ organisations to enable election related activities, including voter education, on farms.
