Invitation to the Eastern Cape Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism(DEDEAT) round table post Policy Speech breakfast meeting

The Eastern Cape MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT), Mcebisi Jonas delivered a Policy Speech for 2012/13 at the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature, Raymond Mhlaba Chamber on Thursday, 22 March 2012.

DEDEAT has been at the forefront in crafting and implementing responsive strategies to salvage the economy of the province which was severely affected by the economic crisis.  In addition, Climate Change, Poverty and high Unemployment rate still remain the key challenges that need robust intervention through implementing sustainable initiatives and vigorous resource mobilization from all stakeholders.

With the recent investment announcements in the province and the relentless efforts to encourage the industry to exploit consistent government policies, the Eastern Cape still remains poised as a destination with abundant opportunities and is a major role player for economic growth and development.

You are cordially invited to a post the Policy Speech which will be held in partnership with the East London Industrial Development Zone and Coega Development Corporation to discuss the implementation of the policy direction and other interventions to be made in the coming financial year.

Date: Wednesday, 28 March 2012
