The Eastern Cape Department of Education wishes to extend an invitation to a media briefing session to be hosted by MEC Mahlubandile Qwase and acting Superintendent-General Harry Nengwekhulu.
The briefing session will, amongst others, offer an update on the following areas:
* comprehensive fraud and corruption investigations instituted by the department last September 2009 through the Special Investigations unit
* the work done to date to strengthen the teaching and learning and the department's curriculum delivery capacity
* the comprehensive forthcoming holiday programme geared at maintaining critical learning momentum during the long "world cup" winter holidays.
After brief presentations by both MEC and acting superintendent-general, there will be an opportunity for an open question and answer interactive session for more detailed examinations of all aspects that may be of interest to the media corps.
