Invitation to attend Exercise Seboka open day at Combat Training Centre, Lohatlha

Exercise Seboka is an annual South African Army joint conventional exercise and is held at the South African Army’s Combat Training Centre in Lohatlha in the Northern Cape.

This year’s event commenced on 9 November 2009 and will end on 9 December 2009. It includes approximately 5 000 members, 18 South African Army units and various support units from the South African Air Force and the South Africa Military Health Service.

Thursday, 3 December 2009 has been set aside to allow the general public to view its capabilities closely as well as all achievements and challenges experienced during the course of the exercise. They will also have an opportunity to view some of the military equipment in action.

You are therefore cordially invited to send a journalist or photographer to attend and cover the event. The programme for the day will include the exercise briefing, static displays, a firepower demonstration and an address by the Chief of the South African Army, Lieutenant General Solly Shoke.

Members who want to attend must RSVP by 12h00 on Wednesday, 2 December 2009. On RSVP, kindly provide the names and surnames, South African identity number, contact details of journalists, photographers or camerapersons attending.
