Intergenerational dialogue on the preservation of culture and indigenous religion in South Africa

The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities in partnership with the Department of Traditional Affairs and lcamagu Heritage Institute will be conducting a dialogue between the youth and older persons on the challenges faced by various cultural, religious and linguistic communities in the promotion and protection of their heritage in South Africa.

The theme of the dialogue is Ibuzwa Kwabaphambili which simply means that the young people should ask the elderly who are experienced on matters that relate to important issues especially on cultural, religious and linguistic matters. This dialogue is aimed at discussing the cultural, religious and linguistic rights as the passing of the baton from one generation to the other.

The dialogue also aims to look at lessons learnt from other cultural and religious groups on how to protect and promote those cultural and religious rights. The dialogue will further bring together people from the African Indigenous Religion, Jewish and Muslim Communities in order to strategies and to learn from each other. Your presence at the event will be appreciated.
