A meeting of policymakers and experts on public health will be held in Johannesburg on Monday morning, to review progress made on the eradication of polio.
This is the third Inter-Country Certification Committee meeting between South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland.
Representatives from World Health Organisation (WHO) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) will attend the meeting to address issues of polio certification at country, regional and global level.
The meeting's primary goal is to support countries ensuring that Polio-Free Certification is achieved.
The poliovirus cases have dropped significantly since the World Health Assembly in 1988 took a resolution to eradicate polio. Only four countries globally are endemic of polio.
