Infection control at Bara receives a boost

In an effort to improve infection control measures, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital has sourced eleven scrub zone machines which will be handed over to hospital management tomorrow.

The basic fundamental to infection control is good hand hygiene and an effective hand sanitiser machine, the scrub zone, has been developed. It ensures a sterile hand wash through a combination of anti –bacteria soap, water, ozone, ultra-violet light and a especially designed bristle brush and dryer.

The eleven scrub zone machines have been donated to the hospital by Dismed, MTN, Beenuka and Mr. Garth O’connor.

During the hand over, there will be a demonstration to show how the machine operates.
