Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) makes available Compliance Reports for Broadcasting, Electronic Communications Services and Electronic Communication Network Service Licensees

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has a mandate in terms of the Electronic Communications Act of 2006 to monitor compliance with this Act and underlying statutes as well as licence terms and conditions.

The Authority is therefore charged with the responsibility to assess and analyse submissions from licensees to ascertain compliance and to conduct further investigations in order to ensure the level of compliance.

It is for this reason that the Authority has compiled Compliance Reports for a certain number of Electronic Communications and Network Service Licensees (ECS/ECNS) as well as Broadcasting Service Licensees and is making these reports available to the public.

The authority hereby invites all interested stakeholders and the media to a media breakfast briefing whereby detailed presentations are going to be made about compliance in relation to selected licensees, including the incumbents.

Furthermore, the media briefing will also provide an opportunity for the Authority to present updates on the Local Loop Unbundling, Digital Terrestrial Television processes as well as the impact of Mobile Termination Rates in the market.

The Press Briefing shall be held as follows:
Date: 16 April 2012
Venue: ICASA Head Office, Block C Presentation Room, 164 Katherine Street, Sandton
Time: 9h00 to 11h00

The media will therefore be allowed to interact with licensees and the authority to get further clarification on the matters.
