Independent Communications Authority of South Africa is continuing with the process of finalising regulations for Digital Terrestrial Television

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) informs the media and interested stakeholders that there will be public hearings on the Draft Regulations in respect of Digital Terrestrial Television (Draft DTT Regulations). This follows the publication of the amendment of the Digital Migration Policy by the Minister of Communications on 7 February 2012.

ICASA published the Draft Regulations on 28 September 2011 and invited interested parties, stakeholders, and the public to respond to the issues raised in the Draft Regulations. The closing date for the receipt of written representations was 10 November 2011. The authority received eighteen submissions. Seventeen of these have indicated their wish to make oral presentations.

The public hearings will be held as follows:
