Hyundai goodwill soccer ball comes to Parliament

A giant soccer ball, courtesy of official transport partner of FIFA, Hyundai, comes to Parliament on Tuesday 9 March to enable members of parliament to inscribe their personal messages of hope about the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup.

Speaker of the National Assembly Mr Max Sisulu, Deputy Speaker Ms Nomaindia Mfeketo, Secretary to Parliament Mr Zingile Dingani, Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation Chairperson Mr Butana Khompela, members of the committee and Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Danny Jordaan are scheduled to sign the ball.

Members of the media wishing to cover the signing send their details to lmolefe@parliament.gov.za copying amantanga@parliament.gov.za by not later than 16h00 on Monday March 2010.

Details required are: Full name, ID/passport number, name of media organisation and media group, designation (writer, photographer, for example), telephone number and cell phone number.

The signing of the soccer ball will follow a meeting of the Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation where LOC CEO Dr Danny Jordaan will brief Members about the challenges around ticket sales for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. The meeting starts at 10h00 in Committee Room 1, 120 Plein Street.
