Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zoe Kota-Fredericks launches Housing Project aimed at uplifting community living standards

The Deputy Minister of Human Settlements, Zoe Kota-Fredericks and Gauteng MEC for Local Government and Housing, Humphrey Mmemezi will launch the Orange Farm People’s Housing Process project this Thursday.

The project is a partnership between the Department of Human Settlements, Federation of Urban Poor (FEDUP), an affiliate of Shack Dwellers International (SDI), and Habitat for Humanity South Africa (HFHSA).

This partnership is aimed at implementing a comprehensive and sustainable process of people driven housing development based on secure tenure, adequate infrastructure, decent and affordable housing for all people living in informal settlements around the country.

NB: The Deputy Minister will hand over houses built by members of FEDUP / SDI and HFHSA to symbolise the launch of the project.
