The Department of Labour cordially invites members of the media to the launch of the training of the unemployed project, a scheme that seeks to train and re-skill South African workers who were retrenched as a result of the global economic recession.
The launch of the project is one of the many initiatives that government has undertaken to minimise the negative effects of the recession as evidenced by the huge retrenchments that have affected South Africa particularly last year.
The launch of the project will kick off with a ministerial and media tour in one of the training venues. This session will be followed by the official launch of the project on 5 March 2010.
