Honourable Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu leads delegation to sign Military Cooperation with Argentina

The Minister of Defence and Military, Lindiwe Sisulu will lead a delegation from the Government and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Argentina on Defence and Military development.

The MOU will strengthen cooperation in the areas of training, search and rescue operations in the Southern Atlantic Ocean. The two countries will also cooperate in the exchange of students, defence education and innovation with specific focus on defence science, technology and industrial development.

The agreement will also cover the sharing of information, development of research and technology on military health and other areas of Defence and Military Veterans. The signing of the MOU will take place on Saturday, 20 November 2010 on board the SAS Drakensberg. The SAS Drakensberg and the submarine Charlotte Maxeke are currently in Argentina for the signing and participation in naval exercises with Argentina Navy.
