Higher Education and Training Minister Deputy Minister Mkhize to address FAPSA conference

The Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training, Prof Hlengiwe Mkhize, MP, will address the Financial Aid Practitioners of South Africa (FAPSA) Conference, hosted by the University of the Free State on Wednesday, 22 June 2011.

The FAPSA, an umbrella body of all the financial aid practitioners representing both Higher and Further Education and Training Colleges in South Africa, will hold its annual conference on 21 to 23 June at the President Hotel in Bloemfontein. The conference seeks to address the challenges facing financial aid practitioners in South Africa and, by extension, challenges facing Higher and Further Education and Training Institutions in the country.

This conference also comes at a time when the Department of Higher Education and Training is implementing some of the recommendations of both the Ministerial Review committee on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and the Further Education and Training College summit, as sanctioned by the Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training.
