Higher Education and Training Deputy Minister Hlengiwe Mkhize to address a Wholesale & Retail SETA Learnership graduation ceremony

Higher Education and Training Deputy Minister, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize, will address a Wholesale and Retail SETA Learnership Graduation Ceremony. A total of 510 learners from 301 companies around Phuthaditjhaba are graduating in courses including merchandising and customer care.

The Department of Higher Education and Training has had a long and fruitful relationship with the wholesale and retail Seta. The completion of this course by the learners will improve their employability and other opportunities in the fast-growing whole-sale and retail sector. This will also increase the skills pool in this rural area. The Seta landscape has been configured to contribute to rural development and employment programmes in all the provinces.

In her address, Professor Mkhize will share the department’s vision of the post-school
landscape and future relationships with the SETAs. She will also elaborate on her department’s skills development programme.
