Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will, this afternoon visit Chris Hani Baragwanath to conduct ten medical male circumcision(MMC) procedures.
The MMC forms part of the Department of Health's policy interventions in the fight against HIV and AIDS in South Africa. Studies have shown MMC to reduce the risk of infection by up to 60%.
Before conducting the procedures, the health Minister, joined by Prof Glenda Gray will deliver a short address on medical male circumcision and progress made thus far in this regard.
Members of the media are invited to join the Minister during this occasion.
