Health Minister to address Harvard School of Public Health on South Africa's health challenges

Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will this morning address students and academics of Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, United States of America (USA) on South Africa's current health challenges and what is being done to respond to them.

The Minister is in the United States (US) attending a series of meetings geared at forging partnerships with several American agencies and bodies and mobilise support.

Yesterday, (Tuesday) the health Minister had a meeting with representatives of the Kaiser Family Foundation to share ideas on transforming South Africa's health system.

On Thursday, (tomorrow) the health Minister will proceed to Washington to have meetings with the STOP TB Partnership as part of strengthening South Africa's response to TB. The Minister, joined by America's Ambassador to South Africa Ambassador Eric Goosby will then give a presentation to Congress on Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

PEPFAR is one of the US agencies that provides a lot of financial support to South Africa's fight against HIV and AIDS and TB.
