Home Affairs Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan promotes Smart ID card campaign at Cheshire Home for people with disabilities in Cape Town

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Ms Fatima Chohan will Monday, 21 July 2014, visit the Cheshire Home for people with disabilities in Cape Town, Hanover Park, at 10h00, where she will hand over Smart ID cards to residents as part of the effort to drive the department’s campaign of accelerating the roll-out of the new automated cards.

At its 2014 Budget Debate in Cape Town last week, the department committed to rolling out 1.5 million Smart ID cards to citizens in the current financial year, 2014/15.
