The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mr Dan Kgothule, will hand over office equipment and furniture to Kutlwanong Rehabilitation for Ex-offenders in Odendaalsrus.
June, being “Youth Month” calls for activism by youth to address social ills in their communities by seeking local solutions to address vulnerabilities such as gangsterism and substance abuse, HIV/Aids, high unemployment rate and youth dropping out of school.
Socio-economic development and employment creation for the youth in rural and marginalised areas is a major priority for government. Government remains committed to work with young people to promote social cohesion and contribute towards nation building.
The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation also joined the call with an understanding to fast track quality service delivery for the youth of the Free State, and therefore responded to Kutlwanong Rehabilitation for Ex-Offenders proposal by assisting and supporting and by donating office equipment and furniture for their day to day running.
