The handing out of the uniforms is part of the roll out of the Department of Social Development's Winter Relief Programme. The Winter Relief Programme was implemented by the department to assist with temporary social relief during these cold winter days and to provide assistance to the needy. Over and  above that mentioned above we have already provided community members with food parcels, blankets and school tracksuits to identified learners.

As mentioned earlier the main recipients of the blankets, food parcels and track suits are vulnerable children, unemployed persons, older persons and persons infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.

The media is invited to attend all the above-mentioned programmes on 26 July 2011 in Colesberg.
