Graduation parade for National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) in Free State

The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform in conjunction with the South African National Defence Force invite members of the media to the graduation parade of young people from the National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) in the Free State. The event will be held at De Brug in Bloemfontein on Thursday, 17 March 2011.

Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform Mr Gugile Nkwinti together with the Minister for South African National Defence Force Ms Lindiwe Sisulu will grace the event. Other dignitaries expected to attend the event are the Deputy Minister Thulas Nxesi, Premier for Free State Mr Ace Magashule and other senior managers from other government departments.

NARYSEC is a two year programme that targets youth from 18 to 35 from rural areas and in possession of Grade 10 report. The programme is aimed at empowering the youth with various skills and is expected to create about 10 000 opportunities for at least four youths from the 3 000 rural wards in the country.
