Government to probe state of governance within traditional leadership

The North West MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Paul Sebegoe and Acting Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nathi Mthethwa will partake in a two days workshop on the assessment of the state of governance within the provincial institution of traditional leadership.

The purpose of this workshop is to develop a comprehensive assessment report which will inform the new and inclusive strategic direction of the national department of traditional affairs. This will include defining the roles of traditional leaders and also providing a basis for the development of a partnership strategy.

Also expected to attend the workshop is the Chairperson of the North West House of Traditional Leaders, Kgosi Moshe Mabe and Chairperson of the National House of Traditional Leaders, Kgosi Pontsho Maubane.
