Youth dialogue on the National Development Plan

Provincial Planning and Treasury youth forum will be hosting a Youth Dialogue as part of commemorating the youth month on 18 June 2013. This will take place at the Steve Biko Centre in Ginsberg, King William’s Town.

The National Youth Development Agency and the chairperson of the portfolio committee on Youth, Gender and People with Disabilities mandated provincial departments and municipalities to establish youth forums as part of advancing youth development in the Province, in line with the National Youth Policy and the PGDP.   Provincial Planning and Treasury launched its youth forum on the 23rd July 2010.  This forum is a platform for young people to learn more about government programmes and their role in advancing the development of the countrY.

  • To have a contribution in moving the province towards vision 2030
  • To define the role of young professionals in the public service
  • To give credence to the saying that knowledge is the “new currency” in our province.

The young professionals are given their first opportunity in this forum as youth in public service to interact closely with the Eastern Cape planning Commission and its operations.

The occasion will be graced by the MEC for Planning and Finance, the Honourable Mr Masualle, Dr Tom, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Fort Hare and the HOD for Provincial Planning and Treasury Ms Mbina-Mthembu. The event will be sponsored by Standard BanK.
