Department of Women, Children and People with Disabilities (DWCPD) takes Women Empowerment and Gender Equality (WEGE) Bill to the people (Consultations)
The Department of Women, Children and People with Disabilities will from 22 - 27 January be on the 2 Groups road-show to provinces with the aim of taking Women Empowerment and Gender Equality (WEGE) Bill to relevant and affected stakeholders (Women Sector).
The aim is to inform and get stakeholders ready to make valuable and informed inputs during parliament public participation period. The WEGE Bill was consulted widely within the country, published in the government gazette in August 2012 and negotiated with NEDLAC between January and May 2013. Cabinet approved the WEGE Bill for Parliament process in October 2013.
The media is therefore invited as one of critical stakeholders to join in and help take messages to our communities.
