Western Cape embarks on Savings Month campaign, 23 to 30 Jul

As part of Savings Month, the Western Cape Government is joining forces with consumer protection agencies to conduct savings awareness sessions across the province.

Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities, said the Western Cape Office of the Consumer Protector, together with agencies including the National Credit Regulator, are visiting residents to encourage them to save.

“We need to encourage a culture of saving so that residents are prepared for emergencies and retirement.  It is also key that more residents have access to financial literacy programmes. It is our goal that through these savings awareness sessions, residents will have the skills they need to manage their finances.”

Yesterday’s session took place in Mitchells Plain.
