Water and Sanitation unveils a plan to supply drinking water to Jericho, 3 Aug

Meeting in Jericho to inform of plans to deliver water services

Government officials from the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), the North West provincial Department of Local Government and Human Settlement, as well as Jericho Water and Sanitation Forum will this morning address Jericho residents in Madibeng. The aim will be to unveil a plan to supply drinking water to the village.

This is part of the government’s intervention to reticulate water to the 19 villages of Madibeng that are experiencing water and sanitation challenges.

Magalies Water was appointed by DWS as an implementing agent of the grand water scheme. The first phase of such intervention is nearing completion in Majakaneng. Jericho, Maboloka and Letlhabile are next in line. The meeting will discuss among others, the installation of yard taps, refurbishment of broken boreholes and repairing a local water reservoir.
