Water and Sanitation meets with water sector entities and Chief Executive Officers of water boards, 17 Sept

The DWS Director-General to meet with the water sector entities’ CEOs

The Department of Water and Sanitation’s (DWS) Director-General Ms. Margaret-Ann Diedricks will today Thursday 17 September host the top leadership of the nation’s water sector entities, the Chief Executive Officers of water boards.

The water boards have a very important function within the sector, which is ensuring the use of their expertise to expedite the delivery of water and sanitation services country-wide. This is possible as they inherently have expertise that can ensure that such delivery is in time and within requirements.

This meeting today, which is bi-monthly, is meant to look at issues straddling policy and legislative review, issues of transformation and governance, matters relating to governance and Ministerial directives, as well as those of debts owed to the water boards. Current and forthcoming infrastructure projects that will be undertaken by the boards and the department will also form part of the agenda.

Details of the meeting are as follows:

Date: 17 September 2015
Venue:  Cullinan Hotel, Cape Town (on the first floor)
Time: 10h00

Media is invited.
