Department of Water and Sanitation in KwaZulu-Natal to host public consultation on the 3rd edition of the National Water Resource Strategy
The Department of Water and Sanitation in KwaZulu-Natal (DWS KZN) will host a public consultation on the 3rd edition of the National Water Resource Strategy (NWRS 3) on Friday 23 September 2022, at Elangeni Hotel in Durban.
The objective of the NWRS 3 consultation is for stakeholders to engage on water issues with an aim to ensure that national water resources are protected, used, developed, conserved, managed and controlled in an efficient and sustainable manner towards achieving South Africa's development priorities in an equitable manner.
The NWRS is a legal document for the implementation and operation of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998) aimed to improve the management of water resources in the country. The notice for public consultations has been issued through the Government in July 2022 and is open for public comments for a period of 90 days from the date of publication of the notice.
