Following the historic visit of President Obama to South Africa, Ambassador Eric Goosby who is also the US Global AIDS Coordinator, will host a media event on Monday, July 1 to announce additional US government investment to support South Africa’s plan to expand medical male circumcision (MMC) services to reduce chances of HIV transmission with consistent condom use.
The representatives of the South African government and Ambassador Goosby will observe mobile medical male circumcision services at Woodstock Community Health Centre in Cape, and then deliver brief remarks including engagement with media in attendance.
