Tshireletso Primary School in Allenridge to receive multipurpose sport court

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) in partnership with The Sports Trust and Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited, will be handing over a Multipurpose Sport Court to Tshireletso Primary School in Allenridge. This will be the 15th Multipurpose Sport Court to be opened in the Free State.

As part of efforts to ensure that our communities have access to sports and are presented with adequate facilities to engage in different sport codes, this Multi-Purpose Sport Court aims to enhance the department’s vision of encouraging all people in our communities to actively take part in different sport and recreational activities.

The Multi-Purpose Sport Court will allow for a number of different sporting codes to be played simultaneously. Sporting codes to be played include 5 a-side Soccer, Netball, Volleyball, Tennis and Basketball This state of the Art facility has twenty (20) years life span and fifteen (15) years warranty and was audited as a “zero waste” as well as an environmentally friendly facility. They also allow for training and development courses for local coaches to improve upon their skills and excel in their respective sport codes.

The Honourable Minister of Sport, Mr Fikile Mbalula, Mr Dan Kgothule, the MEC for DSACR,   Mr Max Jordaan, Projects Chairman of The Sports Trust and Mr Mashego Mashego, Executive Director of Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited, will be in attendance to officially open this facility.
