The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) hosts inaugural Africa Leaders Forum in South Africa

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism will host the first ever Africa Leaders Forum in Stellenbosch Western Cape (South Africa).

The Africa Leaders Forum will bring together travel CEOs, Ministers and regional leaders to discuss issues such as travel facilitation and connectivity; community empowerment & wildlife; Human Capital Development and the use of digital technology to enhance tourism growth. The event follows two hugely successful Leaders Forums in Lisbon and Macau this year.

The event will feature high-level discussions, hot seat interviews and panel sessions with an array of speakers that include Mr. Derek Hanekom - Minister of Tourism (South Africa); Ms Gloria Guevara - CEO and President of the WTTC; Mr. Paul Zille – CEO of the Tourism Conservation Fund; and Ms. Velma Corcoran- Regional Market Consultant for AirBnB South Africa.

Background: The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is the body that represents the Travel & Tourism private sector globally. Members consist of CEOs of the world’s Travel & Tourism companies, destinations, and industry organisations engaging with Travel & Tourism. WTTC promotes sustainable growth for the sector, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, to drive exports and to generate prosperity.
