As part of her ongoing August Women’s Month celebrations, Telecommunications and Postal Services Deputy Minister, Prof Hlengiwe Mkhize, MP, will deliver a keynote address at an ANC Women’s League (Zone 14) Empowerment Economic Summit on Saturday.
In her address, the Deputy Minister will talk about women’s economic struggles. She will inform the audience about opportunities that are available for women in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector and other matters related to women empowerment.
South Africa commemorates Women’s Month in August as a tribute to more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women.
