The Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa and the Minister of Sport and Recreation, Mr Fikile Mbalula will be hosting send-off events for Team South Africa which will be participating in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland from the 23 July – 3 August 2014. The Deputy President will also officially hand over the South African flag to the Team SA Flag Bearer.
South Africa is sending a 187 strong member team to participate in several sporting codes from aquatics to wrestling.

Presidential send-off:

Time: 13h00 - arrival of all media, 13h30 - arrival of Team SA
Venue: Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House, Pretoria
NB: All Media houses that want to broadcast the event live must arrive at 12h00
Send off dinner
At 19h00 on the same day the Minister of Sport and Recreation SA, Mr Fikile Mbalula together with President of SASCOC, Mr Gideon Sam will host a dinner for Team SA.
Venue: Birchwood hotel.
