Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will address a sitting of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) in Carolina, Mpumalanga, on Friday, 15 March.
The address takes place at the culmination of a week-long NCOP Taking Parliament to the People programme which brings together the three spheres of government (national, provincial and local) to account to rural communities on service delivery issues.
This year’s Taking Parliament to the People programme is held under the theme “Socio-Economic Development through Oversight and Public Participation.” A series of public engagement events and oversight visits to various projects around Gert Sibande District Municipality were conducted as part of the week long activities.
