Statistician General Risenga Maluleke visits Mankweng and updates media on census 2021 mini test, 14 Oct

The Statistician General of South Africa, Risenga Maluleke, will lead a delegation of fieldworkers and stakeholders on a walkabout as Census 2021 Mini Test data collection continues in Mankweng Village in Limpopo. Several households in the sample will be visited whereby the latest data collection instruments and navigation will be showcased. The media walk-about coincides with the bi- annual asset disposal programme of the department.

Therefore the delegation will proceed to donate computers to a previously disadvantaged school, Maphefo Primary, in the nearby Podile Village in GaMolepo. The donation will benefit the school and position it to be in line with the call to increasing access and the use technology at education institutions. The computers will be installed with statistical programmes to increase statistics literacy amongst learners, as the organisation gears itself towards counting the population in the upcoming census in 2021. The donation is in line with the Asset Management Policy of the organisation.
