The South African Police Service to host National Commemoration Day

The South African Police Service (SAPS) will host an annual National Commemoration Day in memory of policemen and women who lost their lives while performing their duties.

The event will be attended by the Minister of Police Nathi Mthethwa, his deputy Ms Makhotso Sotyu and the National Commissioner of the Police, General Riah Phiyega, who will, together with the next of kin of the fallen heroes, lay wreaths in honour of the commemorated personnel.

The commemoration will be held at the SAPS Memorial, Union Buildings, in Pretoria on Sunday, the 27 of January 2013.
