South African Library for the Blind (SALB) 100th year celebration - book launch and gala dinner

The South African Library for the Blind (SALB) will be celebrating its 100 years of library service delivery to blind and visually impaired people of South Africa during 2019.

The Centenary celebration events planned for the year will start with a Book Launch and Gala Dinner that will be hosted by the SALB Board on the 28th of March 2019 in Makhanda.

The book provides a 100-year historical overview of the South African Library for the Blind. The objective of the event are as follows:

1.  To celebrate the milestone of 100 years in operation

2.  To give the media more information on the library

  • To commemorate the book launch of the SA Library for the Blind – The Dairy of the Library
  • Give media opportunity to interview managers and Department of Arts and Culture representatives

SALB extends a notice and invitation to media to attend the above-mentioned functions.  Media will be given an opportunity to interview SALB management and other representatives from the Department of Arts and Culture respectively.
