Ngwathe Local Municipality to launch Local Drug Action Committee
Ngwathe Local Municipality together with the Department of Social Development will launch the Ngwathe Local Drug Action Committee (LDAC). The LDAC is a committee established at a local level by the municipality to give effect to the National Drug Master Plan.
LDAC is established to enhance substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking services effectively. It will jointly coordinate and report the activities implemented by stakeholders from different government departments, the private sector, NGO’s and FBO’s, aimed at combating substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking within the municipality.
Cllr M.J Mochela; Executive Mayor of Ngwathe Local Municipality will be launching the 18 members committee in partnership with the Department of Social Development.
