Send-off for the first batch of South Africans granted scholarships to study in Japan as part of the African Business Education Initiative

The Department of Higher Education and Training, in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japanese Embassy in South Africa, will officially bid farewell to the first batch of recipients of the newly-launched Masters and Internship programmes of the Africa Business Education Initiative for youth on the 27th of August 2014.

The scholarship programme follows an announcement of the initiative by the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe at the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development held in Japan in 2013.

The event is scheduled as follows:

Venue: The Michelangelo Hotel (“L’lncontro” Ballroom), Sandton
