Science and Technology hosts Hydrogen South Africa technical meeting, 17 to 18 Aug

South Africa's energy solutions in the spotlight at HySA meeting

Alternative energy solutions to boost South Africa's constrained power grid will be high on the agenda at the first Hydrogen South Africa (HySA) Technical Meeting to be held in Cape Town on 17 and 18 August.

The country's constrained power grid has resulted in ongoing load shedding that continues to affect every aspect of our lives and poses the biggest obstacle to economic growth.

Hosted by the Department of Science and Technology, the two-day technical meeting will discuss the challenges facing hydrogen fuel cell technology and explore possible public-private collaboration in commercialising the technology. Government's role in enabling the development of the fuel cell industry will also top the agenda.

Some exciting technologies such as fuel cell cars, hydrogen fuel cell prototypes, and a solar panel with a water electrolyser will be exhibited during the meeting.

Media are invited as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 18 August
Venue: Park Inn Hotel by Radisson in Newlands, Cape Town
Time: 8h00
