Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe will lead a Public Participation Programme (Imbizo) in Amersfoort in Pixley ka Seme Municipality.
The MEC will be accompanied by Provincial South African Police Service Management, Community Policy Forum Provincial Board, Justice Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster departments such Home Affairs, Correctional Service, Justice and local municipality.
The Imbizo, which will be the second is the current financial year, is part of the department’s effort to enhance participatory democracy especially on safety and security matters.
It will also provide members of the public with an opportunity to have a say on government’s crime prevention initiatives while closing the gap between government and the citizens.
