Academics and researchers will convene to share their findings aimed at improving agriculture in Gauteng province.
This annual research symposium enables government, academic institutions and other stakeholders to improve agricultural activity.The findings will benefit emerging farmers whose limited resources deny them access to scientific support.
The symposium kicks off with Professor Andre Louw’s presentation on the state of agriculture in Gauteng province.This lays a foundation for an array of presentations by renowned academics sharing their findings.
An award ceremony in the evening will recognise outstanding presentations, in the following categories:
• Best Oral Presentation (Crop Production)
• Best Oral Presentation (Animal Production)
• Best Oral Presentation (Animal Health)
• Best Oral Presentation (Natural Resources)
• Best Poster Presentation
• Best New Researcher Award
• Recognition Certificates for New PhDs
• Overall Best Research Project a project which best addresses smallholder farmer's needs.
• GDARD Agriculture Lifetime Award
The symposium is a one-stop shop for the media to interact with scientists and researchers of note under one roof. You are invited to come and engage individuals who positively influence policy formulation aimed at improving agricultural activity in the province.
